A Book to Savor and Learn From I first heard the author interviewed on a podcast I regularly listen to (The Art of Simple) and the idea intrigued me. I learned so much from this book, and I’m so glad I bought it. I actually have a family member in mind who I’d like to pass it on to, so they can read and savor it like I did. Each woman has a 5-7 page mini-biography, which felt just the right amount of length if you have to fit 50 in there! I read this book slowly and intentionally, only reading about 2 women per day so I’d…

Overwhelming Gratitude for Paving the Way I enjoyed reading about the famous Christian women I already knew, but even better was what I learned by reading about Christian women who were awesome in terms of what they accomplished but not famous–at least not to me. Almost every biography left me wanting to know more about that person. excellent overview The author of this compilation brings together a unique combination of 50 women from all walks of life and multiple centuries to show how each followed God in obedience. The short biographies make pleasant reading. From an historian’s perspective, I wish the author had used more primary source material where it’s available. Some of these women wrote autobiographies, and yet those are not the primary resource for the author’s research. They don’t always make it into the recommended books for…
